Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
Hello! I am a trauma therapist for women navigating motherhood and life transitions. I specializes in supporting women navigating motherhood, grief and loss, neurodivergence, and life transitions. I work with adult women who may appear to be managing life well on the outside, but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally. Many of the clients I work with are processing trauma, adjusting to major life transitions, navigating ADHD or autism as adults, or finding their way through the emotional complexities of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. I am particularly passionate about supporting women who are learning to better understand their emotional and physical responses, reconnect with their sense of self, and develop new ways of relating to their experiences.
As a Sport Psychology Therapist, I help athletes, performers, and high-achieving individuals develop the mental skills needed to perform at their best while supporting their overall mental well-being. Whether you're working through performance anxiety, confidence issues, perfectionism, injury recovery, burnout, or balancing the demands of competition and everyday life, I provide evidence-based strategies tailored to your unique goals. My approach combines mental performance training with clinical counseling to help clients build resilience, strengthen confidence, and perform with greater consistency, both in sport and beyond.

Hi! My name is Matt and I am a limited licensed professional counselor. I have been working as a counselor since 2022 and have been working in the mental health field since 2016. My first counseling job was at Central Michigan University and I worked with clients with a variety of concerns such as life adjustments, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, etc. Before anything else, I'd first try to get to know you, your circumstances, your presenting problem, and your strengths before we focus on how we can make the best use of our time together, whether that be space to process, thinking of solutions, or something else. If we don't happen to be a match, that's ok! I work with a team of other mental health professionals who may be available to take on new clients as well.

My goals as a clinician aim to create an empowering, safe space that allows confronting challenges, unlocking personal insights, and strengthening coping skills. The inherent dignity and worth of every individual are guiding principles in the advocacy and counseling support I’ve helped develop with people for over 25 years. Challenges we all encounter can overwhelm our regular functioning and cause pain that distracts and obscures access to genuine joy and plans we all have for our best selves and relationships. Using evidence-based practices and focusing on self-determination, I listen and assist individuals with stabilizing their day-to-day functioning so they can plan and get closer to where they want to be in life and their relationships. I began here in East Lansing at the Listening Ear as a Crisis and Sexual Assault Counselor while in graduate school, and still sincerely value active listening and problem-solving. I’m a licensed clinical social worker, certified Michigan teacher and academic consultant. I’ve primarily worked with adults and youth in both clinical, high school and post-secondary settings.
We are a group of counselors and art therapists that are here to work with you on embracing change. Reach out to us today to allow us to match you with the therapist that can best help you.

I understand that at times, being human is hard. It is natural to have psychological and physical reactions to life events, such as changes, challenges, as well as traumatic experiences. As your therapist, I will help support you by simply being a listening ear and validating your experience. In addition, I can provide you with the opportunity to learn skills for behavioral change and symptom management. I believe that transformation and growth occurs through collaboration of appropriate interventions and a developed sense of self-awareness. My approach to therapy is eclectic and attachment-based. This means that we will build a therapeutic relationship that is based on a foundation of safety, trust, and support. Together, we will tailor your treatment according to your needs. The space I offer is a judgment-free zone, a comfortable place for you to be yourself. I would be honored to hear your story and provide you with the care you need and deserve. I look forward to embarking on this journey of healing with you.
