Hi, I’m Carly! I view therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to build on your existing strengths. I remember firsthand how overwhelming college can feel—balancing academics, relationships, identity, past experiences and future plans can bring a lot of stress and anxiety. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I use a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and motivational interviewing, etc. - all tailored to your needs! I work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, body image, perfectionism, and more. My style is laid-back, honest, and reflective. Together, we’ll set goals that align with what you want and help you move toward feeling more balanced, confident, and supported—both during college and beyond. I hope to see you soon!

Hi, my name is Karla Gossens. I’m a therapist who understands that starting therapy can hard. I've worked with individuals for many years to explore the possibilities of change in a safe and open environment. From anxiety and depression to complex trauma, I'm happy to work with you to better understand what is going on and how to get back to your most natural self. Through the years, I've had experience working with many young adults and college students. I specialize in complex trauma and adult attachment, but also offer therapy for anxiety, depression, self-esteem, general stress, life transitions, and religious wounds. I understand that starting counseling can be an awkward and anxious thing, which is why I focus on a low pressure introduction and virtual therapy that allows you to stay in the environment that is most comfortable to you. Please feel free to reach out to me, I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. Note: My income based sliding scale fee ranges from $60-$150 for on going sessions. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Does the word “people-pleaser” apply to you? Do you find yourself often swept away in the whirlwind of other people’s troubles? Is it challenging to get what you need and want from others? Have you maybe become aware of some trauma and want to begin healing from it? Are you ready and motivated to grow more as a person and live a more authentic life? I can help! I believe that clients are the experts of their own lives. I’m here to help you access your own power to create the changes you want to see. Also, I incorporate a holistic and feminist approach, inviting clients to discuss and process systemic and cultural issues. My focus is to create a safe, validating, and nonjudgmental environment for you to explore any and all elements of yourself, your life, and your connections with others. I often work with people struggling with codependency, trauma, and relationship/family issues as well as anxiety and depression. My clients learn to better regulate their emotions, improve communication skills, increase self-confidence, overcome limiting beliefs, feel empowered, explore life goals and values, and identify what they want in their lives. I have training in treating trauma and skill-building. I work with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. My hours vary for easy accessibility. I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have. You are so brave in taking this first, and often hardest, step towards your goal. I hope to walk alongside you on your journey to achieve it.

My goal for counseling is to provide an open and accepting environment for everyone. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and it's important to feel connected to whoever you work with. I hope that my practice provides that for you.

At Miracle Place Counseling, we believe healing is possible — even when it doesn't feel that way right now. Through telehealth, we offer a compassionate, safe space for those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, CPTSD, Borderline Personality disorder and dissociative disorders. Using EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic approaches, we help your nervous system move out of survival mode and guide you toward feeling grounded, seen, and heard. You don't have to keep doing this alone. We would be honored to walk with you.

Because better relationships start with better self-understanding. Insight-focused counseling for individuals and couples who want to thrive — not just cope. College is a time that can be filled with many highs and many lows. It is a time of transition, change, exploration, and identity development. This can bring up parts of yourself and your relationships that are unfamiliar and new. I desire to be a safe place for you to process this stage in your life as an individual and help equip you with tools and techniques to tackle the problems facing your unique development.

College can be one of the most exciting—and overwhelming—times in a person's life. Whether you're navigating academic stress, major life transitions, relationship challenges, or the impact of past traumatic experiences, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain insight, and build effective coping strategies. I specialize in working with college students and young adults who are struggling with stress management, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma-related concerns. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your individual needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier patterns, and move toward meaningful change. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment where you feel heard, understood, and appropriately challenged as you work toward your goals. Whether you're adjusting to college life, managing overwhelming emotions, healing from past experiences, or simply trying to find greater balance, I am here to support you throughout the process.

I offer my clients a calm and safe place to work through issues that are holding them back from living their best lives. The issues I most often help clients with are anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, ADHD, and depression. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Neurofeedback Therapy. I have found EMDR to be an amazing tool that has been so helpful in allowing my clients to work through traumatic events which then leads to less anxiety, less depression, higher productivity, and better sleep. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit. I look forward to talking with you.

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed and unsure what to do next, it's time to get empowered. You're capable of so much more than you know. Let's turn your pain and uncertainty into growth you never thought possible. In solution-focused therapy, we work together to create a life that's worth celebrating. We can't change difficult events from the past, but the lessons they hold are keys to becoming who we're meant to be. I love witnessing clients achieve their purpose in daily life. In truth, it's what we're all designed to do. I work best with adults and teens who suffer depression, anxiety and troubles navigating life transitions. I have a passion for helping those who suffer chronic pain and illnesses. I particularly enjoy working with people of diverse backgrounds, including members of the LGBT+ community. If you're looking for support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction, I'm ready to partner with you. Let's do this. Please call or email me for an appointment.
