My name is Paul Radel and I am a clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with individuals to address issues and maximize their potential. I strive to create an environment that is welcoming and safe where people can work collaboratively on their journey. Transitioning into college or post college has a plethora of stressors, options, and uncertainty that can be hard to navigate, especially when maladaptive patterns or past experiences get in the way of being our best selves. I live in Eugene, Oregon but practice soley through telehealth software called intakeQ which offers secure and confidential communication and hosts therapy sessions.

I am a licensed professional counselor and have been in practice for over 10 years. I want to acknowledge how uncomfortable or scary it can be to reach out for help and engage in therapy. My goal is to make therapy welcoming and approachable. I am experienced working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use as well as other concerns. I also work with couples. Often, we feel stuck. Stuck in our relationships, our jobs and with ourselves. With 27 years of experience in the counseling field, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and move toward meaningful, lasting change. I have worked with diverse populations facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, grief and loss, addiction, relationship challenges, insomnia, and major life transitions. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals living with ADHD, Panic Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Many come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to cope, but motivated for change. I help by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space built on trust, empathy, and active listening. Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Harm Reduction, and Illness Management and Recovery, I tailor treatment to each individual. Reaching out for support can feel difficult, but you don’t have to face things alone. I offer a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can be heard and understood. When you’re ready, I invite you to take that next step toward healing and meaningful change.

Any of us, from adults to very young children, can experience life challenges that require the caring support of other people. Sometimes we need help to navigate these challenges, and to heal, reorient, and move forward in our lives toward better health and wholeness. When the emotional support of friends and family is not enough, establishing a safe, collaborative relationship with a psychotherapist can be a valuable resource. I enjoy working with students who are ready to access support and guidance in order to address the social-emotional or mental health challenges that are holding them back; the changes and healing they are seeking in their relationships with parents, other family members, friends and/or partners; and clarification of needs, wants and life goals.

I specialize in trauma therapy, with extensive experience supporting survivors of sexual violence and other traumatic experiences. If you’ve been through something overwhelming, it can feel like a fog has settled over you, affecting every part of your life. You might find yourself overthinking, being on edge, shutting down, or feeling numb, even when you want to feel present and connected. Many people I work with feel stuck in this space and are unsure how to move forward. Together, we’ll work to understand and process your emotions, thoughts, and past experiences so they no longer hold the same power over you. I use EMDR and other approaches to help you address what’s at the core of your symptoms. Feeling safe and understood is essential to this work. We’ll move at a pace that’s manageable for you, creating a space where you can show up as you are without pressure or judgment. While this is a vulnerable process, it’s also what allows for deep, lasting healing. Therapy can help you relate to yourself with more clarity and compassion, develop new patterns, and move toward the life you want to live. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, connected, and fully yourself—and to feel more in control of your life—I invite you to reach out. We’ll start with a conversation and see if working together feels like a good fit.

The clients I work best with are often carrying the weight of trauma and are seeking a more connected, empowered way of living. Whether personal, generational, or systemic, many feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or disconnection from their bodies and sense of self. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP), I offer a holistic approach that gently supports nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and self-awareness. I also draw from mindfulness-based practices and integrate ancestral wisdom and energy work when aligned with the client’s needs. My role is to walk alongside you as you reclaim your voice, your wholeness, and your own inner wisdom.

My practice is built around providing counseling with Neurofeedback to adults and adolescents. I believe therapy can be tremendously beneficial in many ways, but particularly in offering an opportunity to look at life experiences and difficulties within an environment that emphasizes a strong, appropriate, and trusting relationship between client and therapist. EEG Neurofeedback is guidance of brain function, resulting in a more efficient and self-regulated brain. We watch the brain in action from one instant to another, and we display that information back to the person. We reward the brain for altering its own activity to more suitable patterns. I am able to quickly build rapport with male clients who are uncomfortable in therapeutic situations and those who have difficulty expressing their emotions.
