Life can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to balance responsibilities, relationships, work, and expectations while also managing anxiety, stress, or unresolved trauma. You may appear to be holding it all together on the outside while struggling internally with burnout, overthinking, self-pressure, or feeling emotionally stuck. I specialize in helping clients process, heal, and grow through life transitions, anxiety, and trauma in a supportive and nonjudgmental space. I utilize evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, and ACT to help clients move beyond survival mode toward greater clarity, balance, confidence, and emotional relief. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected, and actively involved in the process, so I take a collaborative and personalized approach focused on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and helping you create a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling.
I enjoy working with my clients and helping them achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves. I like to get to know my clients and find out what is important to them, it's not what I think you need to work on it's what you want to address.
I believe in healing through corrective experiences. It is possible to heal from trauma & anxiety, rather than just learning coping with it! I prefer to use methods that are designed to alleviate the distress associated with painful memories. This includes Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and other Experiential Therapy modalities that are proven to be equally as effective in a virtual setting.

Do you find yourself obsessing about weight, body image, food, calories, or working out? Do you engage in restrictive behaviors that only lead to bingeing and purging? Do you ever get intrusive thoughts or images that are distressing and you just can't seem to get rid of them? You may even have thoughts of harming someone and have to check to make sure you didn't. You don't actually want to harm them, but the thoughts keep coming. You might even worry that if you don't do something the right way, then it could result in one of your loved ones dying or 'something bad' happening. These are just some of the comments that people with Eating Disorders and OCD might struggle with. It can be very distressing and overwhelming. I work with clients on learning how to manage their emotions and sit with discomfort. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients get their lives back and actually enjoy their college career. I do provide free 15 minute consultations, so if you think we might be a good fit, please reach out!

Or maybe you simply want to feel heard and understood as you navigate a tough transition in your life; you just need someone to be there with you while you do it. While anxiety and trauma may leave us feeling depleted, I believe that counseling can help us find our most authentic and resilient selves through these experiences. My aims are to listen with non-judgment, to help you identify the goals and steps toward them that feel right for you, and to offer support, tools, and even a gentle nudge when you need it. We will co-create a space that feels safe enough to talk about the hard stuff in life, while also shining plenty of light on what helps you feel hopeful and positive. The decision to start counseling is not an easy one, and I know feeling a good connection with your counselor matters. Hardworking, ambitious, fucking exhausted. I work with women (18–30) who look like they have it together but are absolutely depleting themselves to stay that way. They’re responsible, creative, used to handling a lot…but they’re tired of overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling like no matter how hard they work, it’s never enough. Some have anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma histories. Others just know something feels off, that life feels heavier than it should. Often, they’re great at coping on the outside, which can make it hard to admit they’re struggling at all. But let’s be honest: Appearing “fine” is a full-time job. In therapy, we slow things down on purpose. We look at the patterns you’ve been stuck in — people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism — and figure out what’s actually driving them. We work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it. We build practical tools that help you move forward in your life. My style is warm, direct, & honest. I care deeply about my clients and will absolutely challenge you when it matters. I use EMDR, ACT, & DBT skills in ways that are personal and actually useful.
Forming yourself into the adult you are going to be for the rest of your life can be stressful. Managing academics, extracurricular activities, relationships, and social life while planning for your future after college can be super overwhelming at times. I work collaboratively with you to help you learn to cope better with life's stressors, reduce symptoms of mental health, enjoy healthier relationships, and set and achieve your goals. Knowing your values, what's important to you, and following your passions, separate from what others want from you is important and presents challenges. We will help you figure out how best to live the life you most desire.
Hi there, my name is Kristina Mills-Gregory, and I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Oregon, and Florida. I have been providing therapy for over 12 years. I have a Masters in Counseling from Campbell University, and a BA in Psychology and Communication Studies from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Prior to becoming a therapist, I started my career as a school counselor in public schools. I have also worked in community mental health, providing a wide range of services. I specialize in depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, and other issues.
Life can feel overwhelming. You might be carrying past trauma, facing anxiety that won’t ease, or navigating a lingering sadness. Maybe you’re exploring how your identity has been shaped by culture, history, or generational pain—and you’re ready to reclaim your voice. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know: reaching out is a powerful first step. As a therapist with over a decade of experience, I create a trauma-informed space where you feel seen and supported. Together, we’ll face the hard stuff while making room for healing, hope, and growth. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in decolonizing therapy—honoring how colonization, systemic oppression, and cultural narratives impact mental health. We’ll gently examine and unlearn internalized beliefs, reconnect with your resilience, and center your wisdom. This work isn’t just about surviving—it’s about liberation. I believe in the power of healing, especially in the face of profound pain. Therapy for me is about coming home to yourself—finding strength, wholeness, and meaning. If you're seeking someone who deeply listens, understands your complexity, and honors your story, I’d be honored to share this space.

Counseling is like creating a work of art. It can be messy, beautiful, and transformative, but overall, it is a collaboration between client and therapist. I believe that you are the expert on your life and as such use a person-centered approach leaning into a balance of body, mind, and emotion. Doing so allows me to work with you to identify and reach specific goals, which assist in achieving well-being for emotional, physical and mental health. I enjoy working with a wide array of cultures and lifestyles. I currently offer telehealth sessions and see persons of all ages and backgrounds. I am trained in child and adolescent trauma, adult trauma, EMDR, human sexuality, grief, and somatic therapy, amongst other areas. I have a special focus in women’s trauma, adverse childhood experiences and military trauma, utilizing somatic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma, depression, chronic pain, anxiety, and sexual dysfunction.
