I currently reside in Northeast Michigan along the beautiful Lake Huron and have a license to practice in Michigan. I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward self-understanding and an overall well-being. As a clinician, I believe in creating a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard and understood. I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach to ensure that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered. My orientation is strength-based; I seek to create a working alliance of safety and trust. I am trained in a number of clinical methods, notably trauma-based treatment. I am non-judgmental, goal-oriented, child-centered, and I believe in the importance of making everyone I work with feel relaxed and comfortable. I work toward understanding the holistic nature of my clients, and help them understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As a clinical Social Worker, I have worked with children, teens, and young adults with behavior problems since 1978. For the last 20 years, I have worked in Community Mental Health settings with children, teens, families, adults. I have experience working with dual diagnosis, trauma, and a variety of other mental health presentations.

Hi there! I am so excited to sit with you and be present as you engage in the therapeutic process. Taking the walk to receive the care you deserve is often the hardest step, so I am excited to be here with you to cheer you through it! In this life, we face a whirlwind of different scenarios that may create ups and downs in our timeline. And even more often, our internal voice may guide us in a way that sets us back. Together, as we establish our therapeutic relationship, I will work with you to empower you and help you explore how to reach your full potential! As a growing counselor, I have been able to gain a breadth of different experiences throughout my education. Hailing from Western Michigan University, I have had experiences working with individuals with developmental disabilities (behavioral) and was fascinated by people’s different stories and how all of our domains in life affect us in so many different ways! As I embarked on the clinical route, I have had experience working in individual and group counseling settings. As a neurodivergent individual myself, I understand what it’s like to feel those struggles inside and outside of ourselves. I aim to create a space for you to have that voice, the tools, and structural pieces to bring to the outside world. In our work, I often explore from a CBT, DBT, ACT, person-centered, and/or humanistic perspective. I also integrate faith-based counseling, spirituality counseling, as well as mindfulness based practices to help navigate the intersection between physical and mental growth. I work with anyone in our space from ages 13-100+, offering both individual and, now, group services (please reach out for more info on group, if interested)! In this space, my biggest goal is to recognize, ensure, and promote your safety and comfort, and collaboratively create a plan tailored to your success and well-being with the right tools for you. I will act as the facilitator to your growth, where you will always be the expert. My clinical interests involve working with neurodivergent individuals (autism, ADHD), life transitions, self-identity, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger management, boundary-setting/communication, relationship issues, as well as trauma-focused work. I’m excited to meet with you and look forward to what’s to come!

I offer individual counseling to women ages 18+ via video Telehealth. My experience includes working in in-patient and residential psychiatric settings, and before entering private practice I worked in a college counseling center. I enjoy working with college students and young adults as they navigate independence, new life decisions, relationships and friendships. This time of life can be exciting but also overwhelming and confusing. It is a privilege to journey with you through these exciting and confusing moments of life. My hope is to build a space of trust, where together we can work toward your purpose and find solutions to help you move forward.

We understand that asking for help can be scary. You may question what others think or wonder if you really need counseling, but we all get stuck sometimes. You are not alone. Life can become challenging and overwhelming, making you want to escape or avoid external problems or your own needs. Therapy doesn’t solve all of the problems; it gives you a place to explore yourself in the midst of them. It provides support and tools to build your understanding, courage, and resilience – because you deserve healing, wholeness, fulfillment, and peace.

College can feel overwhelming when you are managing anxiety, ADHD, burnout, and constant pressure to keep up. I work with college students who feel stressed, overextended, or unsure of their direction. Many are balancing school, relationships, family expectations, and mental health at the same time. Therapy focuses on understanding patterns, building practical coping skills, and improving daily functioning so life feels more manageable and less overwhelming.

Whether this is your first time in counseling or you are looking to build on previous work, finding a therapist that is the right fit is vital. I am passionate about supporting clients by creating a safe, empathetic, judgment-free and welcoming space for them to process difficult experiences, manage life transitions and gain insight. While I have been a counselor for about 3 years, I have been working with trauma survivors and building on that knowledge for almost 9 years. My foundation as a therapist was built on advocacy work for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, sexual harassment and stalking. Additionally, I have worked on several college campuses with students as they manage life transitions and stressors that come with this. Lastly, I love working with young adults in processing identity concerns, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and more. As a therapist I want to acknowledge the intersection of identities and life experiences that impact one’s identity. With this, I strive to be person-centered working collaboratively with the client to set their own mental health goals. Due to my knowledge and interest in trauma work I received training in EMDR and use that as a modality frequently. I hope to see you in therapy and look forward to hearing how I can support you in navigating life stressors and overall improving your mental health and wellbeing.

In that moment, everything was right in your world and then well, life happened. Now you look back and have so many questions…What happened? Let me tell you, you are not alone! We’ve all been there in some season of life. But who says this can’t make us better! Every person comes to therapy with their own individual needs. Therefore, we adapt our interventions based on a comprehensive assessment of who you are and what you need. We are all trained in a number of different interventions and like to use a combination of our training and expertise to utilize an eclectic approach to best meet the needs of each individual person. Everyone lives a diverse, intersectional existence with idiosyncratic experience. Acknowledging this means relating to others with inclusivity, openness, and humility. This philosophy not only humanizes students, many of whom identify as marginalized community members (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQ+, accessibility needs, low-SES), but also honors their authenticity. Thus, I practice from an existential-humanistic-relational lens so I can naturally tailor therapy with evidence-based techniques (e.g., CBT, SFT, ACT) and psychological theories (e.g., identity, attachment, multicultural) necessary for understanding students’ intersectionality. I typically work with students experiencing elevated anxiety and depression, while specializing in identity development, interpersonal dynamics (e.g., relating to others), relational trauma, and existential concerns (e.g., authenticity, choice, meaning). Early sessions help form a therapeutic alliance, revealing underlying issues that manifest as psychological distress (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma). From there, we identify coping skills, foster hope, and alleviate symptoms as you gain insight-oriented feedback. We also collaborate to explore, discover, and empower actions for you to become the most authentic version of self. The modern world is daunting, with a pace and pivot difficult to navigate. The rapid spin of sudden chaos. Steady drift of aimless wander. Dead still of eternal stagnation. As a serving spirit, I provide a healthy space for students to be and become that who they are and will be. Here, all are welcome. Here… all are an expression of hope and self-empowerment.
