Therapists for college students near 78741
About Me / Specialties I am a licensed psychologist specializing in treating adolescents and young adults with OCD, anxiety (including social anxiety, panic, phobias, and generalized anxiety), and related conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania, tics, and excoriation disorder. I provide evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I see clients in-person in Cambridge, MA and virtually throughout Massachusetts and Texas. I also work with parents, offering coaching to help support their teen or young adult while reducing family accommodations. My goal is to create a compassionate, collaborative space where we take mental health seriously—but not ourselves too seriously. A little humor can go a long way in therapy! Treatment Approach I tailor treatment to each individual, often addressing co-occurring concerns like depression, eating issues, or trauma alongside anxiety or OCD. Using ERP, CBT, ACT, and DBT strategies, I help students manage symptoms, regulate emotions, and make meaningful, lasting changes—all in a supportive and approachable way. Training & Experience I earned my PhD from the University of Virginia, completed my clinical internship at Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for OCD and Related Disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where I currently see therapy patients and conduct research on OCD spectrum disorders.
I am an experienced therapist who helps adults and adolescents with anxiety, life transitions, and trauma recovery. I offer a personalized approach to each client's unique needs. I help teens and adults move from anxiety, anger, and panic into greater self-understanding, self-acceptance, and healthier relationships. Using EMDR, we focus on creating deep, lasting change—so you can feel more in control, connected, and free in daily life. I consider each client's unique characteristics, strengths, values, and needs to create a unique treatment plan for each client. My approach is to come alongside my clients in a way that is free from shame and judgment while creating a safe and welcoming therapeutic environment. If you’re looking for support and someone to journey alongside you as you seek assistance working on specific life issues, and pursuing wellness and connection, contact Danielle to schedule an appointment.
Mental health is defined as the ability to love, and the ability to work; to be able to have stable and emotionally fulfilling relationships with others, to take care of your daily needs, and to be able to enjoy using your time creatively and productively. As a counselor, I aim to join with my clients and help them identify their troubles, explore their origins, and create unique solutions to help them live the life they hope for. While my work is very relational and focuses more on meeting the unique needs of individuals, I use specific techniques drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have seven years experience working with young adults, especially neurodivergent young adults on the autism spectrum or with ADHD or learning differences. I particularly enjoy vocational counseling and helping clients navigate life transitions. Many of my clients have complicated diagnositic histories and may have struggled to connect with other counselors in the past. I accept insurance through Headway and also accept private pay through card, cash, check, or Zelle. Please feel free to ask me about sliding scale.

If you’ve been feeling like you’ve kind of lost yourself lately, you’re not alone—and you’re exactly who I love working with. A lot of the people I see are juggling school, expectations, relationships, and big life decisions, while quietly feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of who they really are. You might overthink everything, struggle to say no, or feel pressure to have it all figured out—even when you don’t. In our work together, you won’t get a stiff or overly clinical experience. I show up as a real person—warm, down-to-earth, and sometimes bringing in humor when it helps take the edge off. You're a woman who grew up without the emotional nurturing you needed by having a distant parent, inconsistent caregiving, or years spent being the strong one. You desired love, but received mental and emotional pain from people you trusted. Now, these early wounds are showing up as anxiety, self-doubt, depression, overthinking, trauma-responses, relationship struggles, low self-esteem, or feeling disconnected and lost. You want peace, clarity, wholeness, and the ability to break generational patterns so you can show up fully, with purpose, and thrive in life as a woman, a partner, a parent, and/or a professional. I help women heal from the impact of childhood emotional wounds using a trauma-informed, faith-integrated approach. I work towards guiding women to rebuild self-trust, regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and create an inner safety they've always deserved. I provide a therapeutic and transformational frame through individual, couples, and group work. You don't have to keep carrying these wounds alone. Healing is possible. It is time to experience a safe space where your story is honored without judgment. If you're ready for supportive work that helps you to feel whole again, I'd be honored to walk with you on this journey. Let's take the next step together.

I provide meaning-centered counseling for individuals navigating trauma, chronic pain, and long-standing stress. My practice is grounded in the belief that experiences are held not only as memories or thoughts, but also within the nervous system as patterns shaped over time. When appropriate, I integrate body-based tools and insight-oriented approaches, supporting students who may understand their experiences intellectually yet continue to feel trapped in how their body responds. Work is paced, collaborative, and attentive to context, readiness, and lived experience rather than quick symptom fixes. My services are offered through in-person sessions in Frisco, Texas, and via secure telehealth across the state. My private practice is self-pay. For those wanting to use insurance, I also see clients through Legacy Trails Therapy, where select plans are accepted under supervisory billing. This can be discussed during consultation.

When stress and emotional overwhelm build up, it can feel like you’re slowly losing yourself. I’m Esther, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have a passion for working with young adults who carry a lot on their shoulders. I carry the lived experience of being a first-generation Latina college student of mixed heritage. I understand the emotional complexity of balancing cultural values, family expectations, and personal growth, and how isolating or overwhelming that process can feel at times. This perspective allows me to connect deeply with the unique strengths, resilience, and challenges that come with belonging to multiple worlds and sometimes feeling torn between them. My therapeutic style is grounded in authenticity— I show up as myself, using warmth, humor, and gentle directness to help you explore the parts of your life that feel heavy, complicated, or stuck. My goal is to provide clients the space where their vulnerability is honored, so that their own sense of authenticity can flourish. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship struggles, identity concerns, trauma, cultural and family expectations, and perfectionism. I earned both my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where my training was grounded in culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. I use a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client, mostly drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and feeling a sense of connection matters. I offer a 15-minute consultation as a way for us to talk about what you’re hoping for, answer any questions you may have, and see if my approach feels like the right fit for you. If you’re ready to explore your story in a meaningful and empowering way, I’d be honored to walk with you through that process.
