My name is Kaylee Van Gent, I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) providing psychotherapy services virtually in Pennsylvania. I have over 4 years of clinical experience across outpatient, residential, and school-based settings. In my clinical work, I often partner with clients experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, trauma, and identity and adjustment issues. While I see many different clients, I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients, those who are navigating complex trauma, and those who have experienced religious/spiritual abuse or manipulation. I work with older adolescents, adults, and older adults. Therapy with me is grounded in deep empathy, creativity, curiosity, and a belief that meaningful change happens through safe, collaborative relationships. My goal is to help clients build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, values-aligned change. Alongside my clinical work, I am also a doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Pennsylvania State University where I am pursuing research interests of social justice and systemic change in counseling and religious/spiritual abuse. Through teaching, research, and practice, I value providing therapy that is affirming, trauma-informed, and responsive to each client’s unique culture, context, and experiences. Outside of work, I am a curious, playful, and nature-loving person. I love hiking with my partner, reading, and having a good laugh.

My name is Danielle Donovan and I'm so excited to begin this therapeutic journey with you! I currently work full-time as a School Counselor and I have eight years of experience working in the mental and behavioral health fields. I went to The Catholic University of America, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology, and Holy Family University, where I obtained my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a School Counseling concentration. Recently, I proudly accomplished obtaining my License as a Professional Counselor. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to empower individuals with whom I work to better understand their thinking patterns and to believe in their ability to overcome hardships and experiences relating to anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, life changes, ODD, ADHD, and Autism. Additionally, I enjoy implementing play therapy for children and adolescents to feel they can be honest and receptive in an approachable, engaging way.

www.shephardassociates.com https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/shephard-associates-llc-boalsburg-pa/1098197 Prior to becoming a therapist, I was the head women's gymnastics coach at Penn State University. This experience informs my practice with students. I have helped athletes through every possible problem students can encounter. I use a trauma informed lens, since we all experience trauma, and that trauma, sometimes informs our reality and our core beliefs. I use a psychodynamic approach, and help individuals understand why they believe and act the way they do.
As an art therapist, I offer a space where creativity becomes a path to healing, self-understanding, and empowerment. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, those healing from trauma, and folks who identify as neurodivergent. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, or life transitions, you're welcome here—exactly as you are. My approach is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and rooted in the belief that self-expression can be a powerful tool for insight and growth. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist to benefit from art therapy. Together, we use creative processes—drawing, painting, or exploring imagery—as a way to access what words alone may not fully capture. I know that therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. I aim to co-create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported in moving at your own pace. My hope is that this work helps you reconnect with your inner voice and build emotional resilience. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings warmth and creativity, I’d be honored to walk with you on your journey.
We specialize in providing trauma, sex, body and LGBTQIA+ affirmative psychotherapy to those who feel lost and unsatisfied, and want a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. We're here to help you slow down, sort through the pressure, and figure out how the hell to take care of yourself and go after the life you want while remaining true to who you are. It doesn’t have to be so hard. We are not distant, blank faced analysts, but instead are responsive and collaborative in our approach. Together, we will untangle the knots created by anxiety, depression, trauma, family, eating, and relationship problems that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, and your emotions.
Many of the students I work with are navigating a lot internally—stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling unsure about their path. You might find yourself overthinking, putting pressure on yourself to have everything figured out, or struggling in relationships while trying to balance it all. You may look like you’re doing fine on the outside, but feel overwhelmed or stuck underneath. You don’t have to have everything figured out. If you’re open to growing, gaining clarity, and building a stronger relationship with yourself, we’d likely work well together.
My ideal client is open, curious, and willing to try. Their goals may include improving self-esteem and body image, developing effective communication skills and relationships, expanding movement vocabulary, gaining insight into patterns of behavior, creating new coping options, building self-awareness, improving emotional regulation, and strengthening the connection between the brain and the body While verbal processing is a part of most therapeutic processes, Dance/Movement Therapy includes the possibility of non-verbal communication. Founded on the idea that motion and emotion are interconnected, Dance/Movement Therapy uses creativity to strengthen communication skills. Whether you are looking for traditional talk therapy, or you want to try a new technique to feel more in your body, please reach out to discuss. The possibilities are endless, don't let the word "dance" deter you. This is not about technique or perfection. This is about you and your own sense of movement.
Lighthouse Family Counseling serves children ages 6 years and up, adolescents, families, couples, adults, and seniors. Lighthouse accepts insurance. We have a variety of counselors with a range of experiences and backgrounds. Our counselors vary in ages which is a benefit to the population that we serve. I specialize in working with clients from the ages of 14 to adulthood, who are inquisitive, self-aware, and deeply motivated to understand themselves better, improve their relationships, move into a place of self-respect/love, and develop adaptive ways of coping, communicating, and problem-solving. I have worked for many years with children, teens, adults, and families dealing with trauma and change and searching for authenticity, often in a world that values the superficial. Therapy is a process of seeking meaning, managing change, letting go of what no longer makes sense for who we are and what we want, healing, and growing. I am most suited to help clients dealing with loss, prior childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity (in all its manifestations), divorce, self-esteem, grief, and emotional regulation. The goals are different for everyone, yet I believe that we all want to feel more balanced, more joyful, and more healthfully connected with others. As a psychologist with 25 years of post-doctoral experience, I’ve been exposed to various modalities, settings, and clients dealing with differing issues, life changes, and developmental expectations. I’ve also found that my professional practice has evolved as I’ve matured, raised children, and survived losses and challenges. We are in this together.
