I enjoy working with adults of all ages to make sense of transitional moments in their lives, including launching into adulthood, new parenthood, or newly single. I offer grief counseling as a significant portion of my practice as well. It is an honor for me to provide an affirming relationship to which you can bring all the different parts of yourself, and come to know and love them more.
I'm Skylar first, therapist second. This means that while I take professionalism and the American Counseling Association's Code of Ethics very seriously, I bring my authentic self to each session. The relationships I form with clients are real, and necessarily so, because it is through genuine human connection that clients find their way. I am not one who finds utility in elaborate hypotheses filled with flowery psychobabble. I work primarily within frameworks of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Existential Therapy, and I consider psychodynamics to be a crucial component of the therapeutic process. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome clients from all walks of life, experiences and identities. On a personal note, I grew up on the southern Oregon coast and I am a member of an indigenous community, the Tolowa Dee-Ni Nation. I have taught in Oregon public schools, traveled throughout various countries as an ESL teacher, worked in port administration as well as local politics. I enjoy spending time in nature, dancing Argentine tango, sailing and frolicking with my corgi Scuttle. My life experiences have left me with a deep appreciation for how many different ways there are to live meaningful lives, and as a counselor I consider it a great privilege and honor to be a witness to yours. -Skylar p.s. I accept clients on the following Oregon Health Plans: CareOregon, Health Share, Trillium
***Currently serving individuals in California and Oregon*** Hello! My name is Carlota, and I am a social justice advocate; a believer in science; a fierce and overly-obsessed dog mom to two wacky pups; an immigrant; and steadfast in my conviction that we have a fundamental obligation to help one another if we have the means and capacity to do so. I am a licensed clinical social worker, and have been in practice since 2013. I completed my undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley in 2008, and received my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2013 from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. I embrace evidence-based and research-supported therapies, while also honoring the power of the therapeutic relationship and process. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, depression, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety and panic, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, and life transitions. I am a trained teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression (IPT-D). I also have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) for Bipolar Disorder, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for the treatment of PTSD in children and teens. Why might I be a good fit for you? Because I get it, and I am whole-heartedly with you on this journey. I know that coming to therapy is a profound undertaking, and that what I will ask of you in this process is not easy. Introspection, change, and confronting avoidance are hard, and so I strive to provide a safe, authentic, and collaborative environment that honors your story, experience, and identity with compassion and without judgment; I strive to be worthy of bearing witness to your story. ***Sirviendo a personas ubicadas en California y Oregón*** ¡Hola! Hello! I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, and love working with college students. I work well with students who want to develop more coping methods for anxiety and stress, and/or students who may be experiencing difficulty adjusting to college life - socially and/or academically. I have years of experience working with college athletes, both as a college baseball coach, and in student-athlete academic support. I am passionate about helping athletes develop skills for dealing with stress and anxiety, both on and off the field.
The world is a tumultuous place right now and therapy can be a helpful tool for navigating the difficulties. I work with clients with a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, low esteem, perfectionism, difficulty with boundaries and communication, and trauma. Therapy can be a helpful tool for working through difficulties as well as getting to know ourselves better. I believe we all have the capacity to heal, face the challenges in our lives, and find joy & ease.
MindSights offers a wide array of psychological testing, assessment, and consultation services. We aim to help young people and/or their families gain a much more robust and practical understanding of the unique ways in which any neurodevelopmental, cognitive, emotional, and/or behavioral differences affect a specific individual’s adjustment, adaptation, success, and comfort in the world. We do not have therapists or a therapy practice, but focus exclusively on psychological testing, assessment, and consultation services
I use experiential, mind-body therapies such as EMDR, IFS, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to assist with a holistic experience to help reduce reactivity rooted in the past and increase people's ability to be choiceful in the current moment.
I identify as a queer woman and specialize with LGBT folks. Poly and kink friendly! I may be a good fit for you if you want a therapist who is genuine, transparent, warm, and friendly, who sees you as a unique individual and tailors our work to identify and meet your needs. I bring a social justice lens and understanding of systems of oppression into therapeutic work. I will tell you what I am thinking, will challenge you intellectually, and actively engage with you. I will be open and honest in answering your questions, work collaboratively with you, describe our options, and check in often. Clients often tell me that our work has helped them to sort through their thoughts and feelings to gain clarity, to grow, to learn about themselves, to develop confidence, and to feel empowered to make important decisions. I employ a flexible approach tailored to the needs of each client. I also provide assessments/letters for gender affirming surgery. It is difficult to find the right therapist based on a short profile! Feel free to contact me with any questions. I am currently accepting clients for telehealth only. I accept Aetna, GEHA, Pacific Source, and Meritain insurance and out of network insurance benefits.
Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loneliness, life stressors such as work, college, relationships, or a major life transition? Maybe you're exploring your identity (cultural, racial, life roles, etc.), a child of immigrants, adjusting to disability, or navigating neurodivergence. If any of these things resonate, we may be a good fit to work together. Additionally, I'm drawn to working with those who identify as Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs) and find themselves feeling out of place, overwhelmed, or unseen. My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and flexible. I draw from a range of approaches to help you better understand yourself, notice patterns in thoughts and relationships, and build on your strengths. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just carrying a lot on your own, you’re welcome to reach out for a free consultation. I offer a space to slow down, sort through what’s coming up for you, feel heard, and seen. I’ll meet you where you are, when you're ready.
I believe the role of a therapist is to be more than a reflective and empathetic companion in the client’s journey and must also incorporate directive approaches in order to alternate between being a companion and being a leader on that journey. Inherent in this belief is that clients are coming to therapy because they want something different than what they currently have. This can be as simple as a new perspective on a past or current struggle or as complex as a new skill set for managing and overcoming emotional, behavioral, cognitive, relational, or somatic patterns that have arisen in response to emotional distress. My theoretical orientation is rooted in Systems Theory and I utilize interventions from Family Systems Therapy, Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, ARC, as well as Somatic and Mindfulness based psychotherapies. I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, college students, adults, couples, and families. My experience has shown that change is typically hard work and often requires compassionate and collaborative support in order to build new skills. I see clients in both Oregon and Massachusetts and I offer a 30 minute free video or phone consultation to see if I am the right fit for you.

Have you been longing for a more fulfilling, meaningful life? I offer online (video-based) therapy to treat trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, and depression. I have lived in several countries and speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I see you. I hear you. I am here to support you. Currently seeing clients via telehealth in OR and WA.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults from diverse backgrounds, including neurodiverse youth. Across these populations, I have seen common experiences of challenge, resilience, and growth. As a college graduate who changed majors and faced setbacks along the way, I understand the need to regroup, persist, and try again—an experience strengthened by the support of a strong social network. I invite you to connect, and I would be honored to walk alongside you, offering professional support as you navigate your own path forward.
I work with people in transition or who are preparing for change. Artists, actors and writers. Those in bereavement. Or who are living with a catastrophic health-related diagnosis, recent or of long duration. Caregivers. Mental health interns who need to explore their own issues in order to practice mindfully. Folks who are using substances more than they want. People who want to decrease their distress but who also have a curiosity about its sources. People who want to talk with someone about the most important thing in the world, perhaps to discover what that is. My specialty is the intuitive analysis of what is most important to you. My experience has shown me that we carry within us the answers we're looking for. My skill is in eliciting these answers and reflecting them back to you so you recognize them. I've been trained in Depth psychology, Narrative psychology and Cognitive Behavior therapy, in dream analysis and evidence-based practices like Seeking Safety. In addition to private practice I've directed multiple community mental health and recovery programs, as well as provided training and clinical supervision to new therapists.
Hello, my name is Sarah Nelson (she/her/hers), I come to my work as a therapist holding tight to the knowledge that all people want to live meaningful lives with deep loving connection to others. Perhaps you are feeling a loss of meaning, a loss of connection, or are in the midst of a life transition and that has led you here. Whatever has led you to seek therapy, I am glad you are here and I welcome you as you are, as you were, and as you would like to be. I approach my work with a desire to connect and to understand, to hold hope, and to guide towards insight. As a counseling psychologist I am trained to work with a wide variety of presenting concerns and within many modalities. My approach to therapy is rooted in warmth and connection and you: who you are, where you come from, and what is meaningful to you. Our work together will be deep and relational. Within this person-centered approach I bring attention to early attachment and current relationships through the lens of feminist liberation psychology. This lens means that I see your context on a historical, local, and cultural scale as inextricable from your current mental health. INDIVIDUAL THERAPY: I provide person-centered, holistic, and contextualized individual counseling that is rooted in attachment, connection, liberation and social justice. I am trained to work with a variety of concerns and using a variety of modalities and most often work with: anxiety, depression, identity development and transitions, grief and loss, relationship concerns, sleep concerns, transgender mental health, sexuality, and existential concerns. COUNSELING FOR TRANSITIONS: The transitions into and out of college and into and out of careers and jobs are frequently moments of fear and anxiety. These transitions can also be seasons of growth in self-understanding and moments for powerful shifts in identity. I have specialized training in career and academic counseling as well as business consultation and leadership development. I offer person-centered, compassionate, and contextualized therapy for these seasons of transformation, whether you are: transitioning from college, moving between jobs, reentering the job-market after family leave, longing for a more balanced work and home life, or developing your ability to lead. PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT: I offer psychosocial affirming evaluations for gender affirming and confirming surgeries and interventions following the WPATH standards of care guidelines. I am able to provide these assessments and letters of support to any resident of Oregon. I am committed to making such assessments accessible. PERINATAL AND PARENTING SUPPORT: The seasons of pregnancy and parenthood are marked by layered, sacred, and complex transitions and changes in identity and relationships. I offer inclusive, holistic, and holding therapy for individuals who are trying to get pregnant, are pregnant, have experienced pregnancy loss or fertility concerns, abortion, miscarriage, or for those who are transitioning to parenthood or have parenting concerns. I am particularly interested in helping individuals build intentional parenting patterns through better understanding of their own relationships and mental health. I have specialized training in life-span development, particularly in prenatal and postpartum counseling and in parenting.
I believe that therapy is an investment in oneself, a space to learn about your personal emotions, life patterns, and ways you want to live your life. Everyone deserves to have a non-judgmental individual in their corner! As an old soul, I have a deep well of compassion which I balance with some "real talk" that encourages one to examine their lives. I enjoy working with people throughout the life spectrum.
