Dr. Dietz's work as a psychologist is rooted in the belief that there is healing power in connection and in sharing one’s story. She works to provide an affirming space that allows clients to explore their experiences and challenges in a more nuanced and compassionate manner. Human beings have an innate need to feel seen and understood. In an increasingly isolating world, therapy offers clients the opportunity to feel less alone in their struggles, while also offering practical coping skills and strategies for growth. Sarah adopts a collaborative approach with clients, to ensure therapy is addressing goals that are valuable and relevant to each individual. Sarah is intentional about approaching clinical work with a multicultural lens as a means of acknowledging and honoring all aspects of clients’ identities and lived experiences. Sarah utilizes a trauma-informed and grief-informed framework to avoid pathologizing normative reactions to trauma and loss. Sessions will often include psychoeducation to help clients better understand and contextualize their challenges, experiences, and reactions.
Hi there! My name is Justice, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in the State of North Carolina. I was drawn to this profession because of the experiences I have faced in my own life. My passion is working alongside of adolescents, young adults, and new moms as they transition through the seasons of life.. My goal when working with clients is to cultivate a therapeutic relationship by offering an accepting, safe space to be your authentic self to share, learn, and heal. I enjoy processing with young adults through anxiety, stress-management, generational/childhood trauma, depression, relationships issues, and life transitions. My therapy style is holistic, and I use a combination of therapeutic approaches and interventions to help meet your needs. I strongly believe that everyone can acquire skills needed to fulfill life goals and overcome challenges; but sometimes a guide is needed to address patterns of behaviors and problematic thinking. If you like to learn more, take the first step towards hope and healing, you are worth it!
Anxiety, depression, and overwhelming feelings can weigh you down. Quite frankly, it can feel like a real B-Word sometimes! I hear you. Hello, I am Alexann Masiko-Meyer, I am an eclectic counselor that would be filled with gratitude to support you. SPECIALTIES Stress, Anxiety Depression Self esteem Adjustments / Life Changes Military Transitions Teens & Young Adults I also have experience in LGBTQ, Relationship issues, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Anger management, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes Years of Experience: 5 I expect nothing less than being held to professional standards. However, in full disclosure, I don't take myself too seriously, and I wholeheartedly feel that being a bit goofy, and being quirky, and maybe a bid different is okay! Many times, it is more than ok, and what makes us more of an individual, helps on the journey to wellness, being unapologetically yourself, putting a laugh out there to the universe and finding the good things in life along the way. Humor and levity may be evident and incorporated into the therapeutic process. I feel that everyone should have the ability to access mental wellness support and counseling. As a military spouse, and moving all over the country for 18 years, allthewhile working in the helping profession, I have grown to recognize the cultural apprehension, inability to access and equity issues that surround access to counseling. Summer Sessions Counseling is founded on the belief that mental wellness support should be accessible by everyone without stigma, physical access and transportation barriers, without requiring a diagnosis, to access one's best self. What is therapy like? What can I expect from my first session? The first session is typically a review of information you supplied on your intake form and address concerns that you may have. As you progress in your therapeutic journey, you will get into the real nitty gritty, strategies & processing activities, psychotherapy, counseling activities, art therapy, journaling and carving a new path to your ultimate goal.

Adjusting to a challenging academic and social environment is an exciting and often daunting prospect , drawing upon one's resilience and creative faculties. I especially enjoy working with energetic and open minded clients just setting out on life's journey. My job is simply to see your world through your eyes to the best of my ability and together discover your unique solutions to challenges in this most pivotal period of life. I subscribe to an eclectic mix of theoretical styles such as Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as EMDR to address trauma memories and development of resources to set your path to success in whatever direction you value. Sometimes distractions and poor choices get in the way of our values. It is then that therapy can be most helpful.

Hey, take a seat, get comfy! Life throws a lot at us, and it can feel like an uphill battle. So, let me start with this - no matter how messy it may seem, I'm here to listen. It can sometimes feel that society, one’s generation, or our own community has not prioritized our emotional wellbeing. This is our time to navigate the potentially spooky world of vulnerability in a nonjudgmental space. Whether it means we're going to dive into some anxious or depressive thoughts and feelings, explore life transitions you’re going through, or hold space for processing any trauma, this is where we work as a team to navigate these challenges. I provide both virtual and in-person sessions for individuals. I use an approach that works to bridge action steps with emotional attunement. With CBT, Solution-focused techniques, and Polyvagal Theory, I am here to help you discover what path you want to walk. If you find yourself seated across from me, I am a listener, an advocate, and a collaborator. If you can put up with the occasional pun or dad joke, I hope to hear from you! Here at Born to Bend Mental Health & Wellness, PLLC, we offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment. LGBTQ individuals, persons of color, and others marginalized by society are welcome.
