Welcome! As a licensed independent clinical social worker, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, care giver support, identity exploration, and life transitions in adults. I work with adults of all ages, ranging from students and young professionals to aging adults. I have experience in brief treatment, college mental health, and outpatient therapy. I give space for clients to feel heard, understood, and empowered. Clients engage in introspection and reflection on their present and past selves, relationships, and communities. People are resilient and resourceful, and I value learning and meeting clients where they are at. Throughout my life I have always strived to promote mental health whether listening to a friend, advocating for clients and families, supporting a caregiver, or volunteering for local organizations. Mental health truly affects people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. I aim to develop a safe and inclusive environment for all. I am a licensed mental health counselor specializing in helping young adults navigate anxiety, depression, academic stress, relationship issues, and life transitions. Currently, my practice offers telehealth sessions, providing flexibility and convenience for clients. Before starting my private practice, I worked in various settings, including schools, residential programs, and community-based organizations. I am passionate about what I do, and my primary goal is to help clients build confidence, improve their overall well-being, and equip them with effective tools to handle future challenges and stressors. My approach to therapy is eclectic, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and acceptance-based strategies to foster meaningful, positive change. Above all, I believe that a trusting, supportive relationship is at the heart of the therapeutic process. My style is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, and I am dedicated to providing a safe space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported.
I see College and Graduate students at all year levels. I work with individuals and couples ( married and unmarried, who are dissatisfied with or want to improve their partnerships). Even the best parts of your academic career -- having more control over your own life, living with new people, getting to know a new city, forming new relationships, coming out to yourself or others, learning and pursuing what interests and inspires you -- can create stress. Relating to your family may be complicated, particularly if there have been difficulties at home. Loss, divorce, illness, abuse or substance abuse may factor into your story. You may be the first person in your family to go to college or beyond. You may have a chronic medical condition, visible or invisible to others. Figuring out who you want to be and what you have to work with may be unnecessarily burdensome to do all by yourself. When you hit a bump in the road, psychotherapy can help you problem solve, understand yourself better and come up with new strategies to move forward. Getting to know yourself better can be an important part of your education. Getting a handle on anxiety and/or depression can be crucial to making life work for you. Individual or couple psychotherapy can sychotherapy, free up energy to pursue life goals and improve relationships. I have worked with college and graduate students, as individuals and in couples, for over 25 years both in a University Counseling Center and in my private practice. I also have trained other professionals to work with students Please see my website or Psychology today profile for more information about my practice with couples and individual adults. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/roberta-caplan-waltham-ma/113684 I offer a free telephone screening to see if working with me might meet your current needs. I accept BC/BS PPO plans (not HMO) and can provide documentation you would need for out-of-network benefits for other plans.
I help clients navigate identity exploration, trauma, grief, relationship challenges (familial or intimate), and major life transitions—like adjusting to adulthood or stepping into a more authentic sense of self. These liminal, in-between stages can be tricky to navigate and are often marked by anxiety, depression, or a fragmented sense of self, leaving folks feeling emotionally untethered. While we must lead ourselves to authenticity, it can help to have a thoughtful, attuned guide who walks alongside us—offering new perspectives, practical coping skills, and questions that gently challenge deep-rooted assumptions. I enjoy working with young adults on the precipice of independence, older adults facing aging-related transitions, couples, and folks with marginalized or liminal (Biracial, Bicultural, nonbinary, genderqueer, etc.) identities. Together, we reduce fear, shame, and relational distress, while cultivating authenticity, inner wisdom, and emotional resilience. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable and unfamiliar. If you're unsure whether we'd be a good fit, I'm happy to meet with you, answer any questions, and elaborate on my approach to therapy. You're not alone in taking this first step—and you don’t have to do it without support. I provide therapy through Intersect Clinical Services, a preferred provider for Boston-area students. We accept UHC StudentResources and Aetna Student Health with minimal or no out-of-pocket costs.
If you're struggling with persistent sadness, lack of energy, or difficulty concentrating, you're not alone. Perhaps anxiety leaves you breathless, or stress manifests physically. Maybe irritability is affecting your relationships, or daily tasks feel insurmountable. Whether you're trying to manage chronic issues, adjusting to a new environment, or seeking to improve your overall well-being, our services are tailored to support your unique journey.
Hi there! My name is Brianna. I’m a Licensed Certified Social Worker that graduated from New York University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. My experience lies in helping children, adolescents, college students, young adults, and families with varying backgrounds, some including: anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, depression, neurodevelopmental disorders, and relationship concerns. Being a college student comes with a lot of demands and transitions. This time in your life, while exciting, can also be exhausting and strenuous. College life looks different for everyone! Whether you are a student-athlete, living at home, constantly in the library, in a fraternity or sorority, or anything else college may offer, you have a set of pressures you face daily. It is my goal to create an environment in which my clients feel safe and comfortable so that they can reach their fullest potential. Therapy can be difficult, but it also can be a great experience! I look forward to hearing from you and learning about how I can support you!
I have been working with the young adult population for 10+ years. I enjoy supporting college-aged students as they work to identify and build their strengths and overcome challenges. Being in your 20s somethings is fun, exciting, and can be for many, incredibly hard. I work to understand what it is you are experiencing to personalize strategies, validate your feelings, and help you meet your goals.
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by stress, grief, shame, or old patterns that they cannot seem to break. In our sessions you will have room to slow down, reflect, and release the weight of what you have been carrying. We aim to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected to the life you want, both personally and professionally. We are a group practice led by Rebecca, an LICSW, and Julianne, an LMHC, offering Tuesday and Friday telehealth appointments with the goal of providing accessible, supportive therapy for all patients. If you are ready to begin this process, we are here to support you. Our work is grounded in cognitive behavioral and trauma informed approaches. This means we focus on helping you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and experiences interact, and how you can develop practical tools to cope with what you are going through. We work with adults, and welcome anyone seeking support for depression, trauma, grief, stress, or life changes. Whether challenges are longstanding or new, you do not have to face them alone.
One of the great promises of therapy is that even when we don’t know exactly what we need or know how to feel better, if we lean in with curiosity and compassion- and stay committed- we can learn to turn toward ourselves and each other with empathy, begin to build healthier relationships, and ride waves of emotions like a pro surfer. I believe we all have the capacity to grow and reach greater levels of understanding along happiness in life. I think the best way to get there is through a meaningful connection that is created in a safe environment where we can express our authentic needs. I often support clients with experiences like stress, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, bipolar, ADHD, and autism. I have been trained in various clinical techniques in Europe, including schema therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. My approach is integrative and tailored to your unique goals and needs. Growing up outside the US, I also bring a cross-cultural perspective that deepens my understanding of the challenges people from diverse backgrounds might face. I empower my clients to gain insights into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that they can make meaningful changes in their lives. Reach out if you're curious about working together!

You may appear confident on the outside, but internally struggle with self-doubt, anxiety, or fear of rejection. Many of my clients feel “too much” and not enough at the same time, which can show up as overgiving, withdrawing, or difficulty setting boundaries. I work with high-achieving individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, and grief—often expressed through overthinking, emotional avoidance, or disconnection. These patterns are often rooted in early experiences, cultural pressures, or navigating marginalized identities, all of which can shape how we view ourselves and relate to others. Together, we work to build a more grounded sense of self, increase emotional awareness, and shift away from survival patterns like numbing, overcontrolling, or checking out. My goal is to help you feel more confident, connected, and at ease in your life and relationships. I especially enjoy working with BIPOC clients, Asian Americans, first-generation individuals, and those exploring identity and belonging. I offer a free, no-pressure consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
Sometimes pain is overwhelming, especially as a young adult. You might be feeling sad, worried, or like no one else in the world understands. Maybe you are struggling in school or work, or having a hard time making friends. Or maybe you are in a difficult family situation, or are completely overwhelmed by what you want your future to be like. Regardless of where your pain is from, you may be noticing things like withdrawing from others or even physically harming yourself because you haven’t found better ways to cope with your feelings. Or maybe you’ve just noticed that you’re having more anxiety or sadness than usual. However you are experiencing your pain right now, I welcome the opportunity to work with you to form new patterns and explore the pain that lies underneath your current ones. Difficulties in life sometimes can’t be avoided, but you don’t have to face them alone. If we work together, you will have the opportunity to explore your thoughts and emotions in a caring atmosphere. We can think together about what might best help you work through the difficulties you are facing so that you can begin creating a life for yourself that is both enjoyable and fulfilling. I like to find creative ways to help you express your thoughts and what you need. For some people that can be talking about thoughts and feelings directly and learning about coping skills, but it can also include artwork or even finding memes that resonate with you. One of my goals is to use what you already enjoy and find helpful to personalize our work to fit you. My sessions are feedback-informed. During our first session, we will talk about which approaches might work best for you and talk about what our future sessions might look like. Throughout our work together, we will check in about what is working well and what changes you might want to make to help our time to feel more effective and supportive. I invite you to explore my website for more information on working with me as well as my background and training. I welcome you contacting me with questions or to talk about if I might be a good fit to work with you.

Hi there! My name is Julie (she/her), and I am a therapist with a clinical social work background. I work with folks who have a variety of concerns. Recently, I've had several college students who want to work through depression or anxiety while they figure out various paths they are struggling with. Together, we discuss various tools to help manage stressors and feelings.
I believe that therapy should be a space where you don't have to perform, explain, or minimize your feelings, no matter your reason for reaching out. As a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I welcome clients with diverse identities and concerns, and strive to create a safe, compassionate environment where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma/complex PTSD, including survivors of assault/abuse. I also support clients navigating life transitions, identity-related challenges, relationship concerns, emotional dysregulation, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, and academic/workplace challenges. Since there's no one-size-fits-all in healing, our work together will be tailored to your unique needs and a pace that feels safe, supportive, and sustainable for you. This can include processing difficult experiences, building insight, developing practical coping strategies, and fostering self-compassion, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. As a Harvard-trained researcher, my therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based care, integrating cognitive behavioral, dialectical, somatic, psychodynamic, and narrative interventions to help you create lasting, meaningful change. I look forward to supporting you in your journey towards a life that feels more grounded, fulfilling, and authentic.
Welcome, and thanks for looking! I'm excited to begin your counseling journey with you. My role as your therapist will be to not only help you feel safe and supported, but also gently challenge you when appropriate. I am especially eager to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationship troubles, body image, LGBTQ+ related themes, and difficulties related to life transitions. My primary approach to counseling is very relational. I believe that trusting your therapist is the pinnacle of what makes therapy work. One of the best parts of my job is hearing someone say "I couldn't wait to talk to you about this!" I want our work to feel collaborative and tailored to your individual needs as much as possible. Seeking therapy can be very intimidating, and you're taking a brave step by being here. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable, validated, and supported as possible when we work together.
