Therapists for college students near Boston College
Hi, I'm Brianna (she/hers)! I specialize in working with college students experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and/or managing life transitions and relationship issues. Typical concerns can include adjusting to college, managing academic or athletic stress (including injuries), health anxiety including complex or chronic illnesses, and relationship stress, as examples. I work with individuals seeking to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies and discover ways to improve their overall well-being, feel less anxious or stressed, and feel better in their day to day life. My approach is warm and collaborative to foster a trusting relationship. Using a blend of relational, attachment-based perspectives and skill building as needed, I help clients explore new ideas, challenge negative patterns or ways of thinking, and build resilience. You can expect me to share feedback, gently challenge ideas, and use humor in sessions. I'm also trained in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), an evidence-based treatment for chronic pain, and provide this therapy as well. If you’re interested in exploring new ways to manage life's challenges, improve your well-being, and feel more resilient please feel free to reach out to set up a free consult call. I look forward to speaking with you!
Depth. Strategy. Lasting Change. I provide therapy and coaching for deep thinkers navigating executive function, overwhelm, or relational patterns that no longer serve them.

I have over 10 years of experience working with undergraduate and graduate students. These are periods of time when many life transitions happen, and I have helped many young adults not only navigate, but thrive during this important period of life. I look forward to working with you!
I'm a psychologist with 20+ years helping college students with eating disorders and body image problems. I like to work collaboratively. I bring the expertise on how to help students recover from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and emotional eating ( as well as the anxiety and depression that often accompany these issues) but students are the experts on their lives. Together, we form a partnership to help you move forward in both your eating disorder recovery and in building a life with more balance and joy! I utilize a mix of empirically-supported therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I work at CampusCare Counseling. I am trauma-informed in my approach. This means I work with clients to build trust, taking into consideration personal and socio-cultural factors, with the goal of forming a therapeutic relationship that empowers clients and allows their authentic selves to be in the therapy space. I believe growth, as defined by the client, happens from there. When clinically indicated, I pull from my experience and training with trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and EMDR. Additionally, I use psychodynamic, existential, and feminist perspectives to inform my work.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing both medication management and psychotherapy for adolescents, college students, and adults. As a Boston College graduate with experience in inpatient psychiatry at McLean Hospital, outpatient psychiatry, and emergency psychiatric services, I have extensive experience treating students facing a wide range of mental health concerns. My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. I particularly enjoy working with college students and young adults as they navigate academic stress, life transitions, relationships, identity development, and recovery from trauma. Because I provide both psychotherapy and medication management, students are able to receive coordinated care from one provider when appropriate, creating a more consistent and collaborative treatment experience. I currently offer in-person appointments in Brookline as well as telehealth throughout Massachusetts. I work with students from all backgrounds and strive to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can be yourself. Together, we'll work to better understand what's been getting in the way, build practical tools to help you feel better, and create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to help you feel more like yourself again—not just get through each day, but truly thrive.
I offer both telehealth and in-person appointments at my Boston location (16 Cohasset St). I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. I have provided care in hospitals, community mental health programs and outpatient centers, supporting individuals experiencing complex emotional challenges, personality disorders, substance abuse and self-harm. My practice, Venus House, was founded as a consciously safe space that prioritizes inclusivity, cultural humility and compassion.
My clients often seek therapy when they are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or burnt out. They are amidst a transition — starting college, beginning or ending a relationship, changing jobs, or becoming a parent. Others are feeling stuck and need support navigating friendships, partnerships, family dynamics, and careers. I believe that effective therapy happens when the client and therapist have an authentic, trusting relationship, and the client is invested in their healing. Therapy is a dynamic conversation geared towards your needs-to be challenged, validated, empowered, or understood; every session is designed to meet you where you are both that day and in their overall therapeutic journey. I value the use of humor and authentic connection. I primarily utilize psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and attachment theory, all within a trauma informed lens. Current and past clients have highlighted that they valued my authenticity as a person and provider, that I created a non-judgmental, accepting, and empathetic space where they felt truly seen and cared for, and that our work together has been valuable and healing. How may I help you? I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, board-certified, working in Coolidge Corner, Brookline providing psychiatric diagnostic assessment, medication management, and consultation. I offer Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday appointments 7 am-6 pm. I started my career as a school-based-support-team social worker in the South Bronx. I am a generalist working with adults. My clinical practice is client-centered, based on training, experience, and recommendations set forth by evidence-based care. I treat the symptoms, use medications conservatively. I encourage using workbooks as an adjunct or alternative to medication. Modern life presents many choices and challenges. Genetic and environmental stress, COVID-19 can be overwhelming. I offer my professional expertise to help you navigate through these challenges with awareness, compassion, and mindfulness. Have you lost interest in activities that used to bring you joy? Do you lack motivation to meet your responsibilities? Do you feel overwhelmed with life's tasks and worry incessantly about the future? Have you had trouble falling or staying asleep due to overthinking? If you respond yes to any of the above you are likely experiencing depression and anxiety symptoms. These can be very painful and unfortunately are very common among college students. Avoiding or ignoring these feelings will not make them go away but together we can face them and launch you on a journey to optimal mental health. I offer client-centered psychotherapy where I incorporate elements of psychodynamic, CBT, and humanistic therapy in catering to your unique needs. My job is to provide you with a safe, judgment free space where you can be vulnerable and experience compassionate listening. I enjoy working with students during this time of transition in their lives. Away from home, students must learn to structure their time to study and embark on a social life. This is a good opportunity to develop self-awareness and discover which relationships are best for them. Most of my clients are creative: writers, musicians, actors, artists, photography, and film. Many are introverts and/or highly sensitive people. I help them embrace their introversion as a gift rather than a liability.
Supportive Minds was founded by two clinicians passionate about providing community- and empowerment-oriented mental health services. We are a new specialty addictions/high-risk behaviors outpatient group practice that offers inclusive, harm-reduction-oriented addiction and mental health services. We service adult and adolescent populations that include traditionally vulnerable and underserved populations. We offer confidential and safe mental health services that are flexible and customized to our clients in the community, in our office space, or virtually on telehealth. We are trained in various evidence-based clinical models of care. We are a minority-owned business and proud to serve the people of Massachusetts. We at Supportive Minds, PLLC believe in creating entry points for access to high-quality mental health services, especially for vulnerable populations (BIPOC, LGBTQ, and women). We believe in providing evidence-based harm-reduction-oriented treatment and support for high-risk behaviors. We believe in our duty to care and see ourselves in the suffering of others so that we may collectively listen, understand, and when possible, offer support toward empowerment and change.
Life has a way of surprising us — a loss, a betrayal, a diagnosis, or a path that no longer feels right. In these moments, it’s easy to feel unsteady or unsure how to move forward. I specialize in working with college students and young adults who are navigating these turning points and trying to find their footing again. With over 15 years of experience in counseling settings at Harvard and MIT, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can slow down, reflect, and feel understood. My approach is both insight-oriented and practical — helping you make sense of your experiences while building tools for meaningful change. Many of my clients are high-achieving individuals — often children of immigrants, or professionals in higher education and STEM — who appear put-together on the outside while quietly carrying stress, grief, or a sense that something isn’t quite working. If that sounds like you, I can help. Let's get started!
While specializing in men's issues, anger management, and adolescent and college student populations, I also work individually with women dealing with anxiety, loss and relationship issues. With an emphasis on strengthening relationships and self-esteem, therapy is designed for people searching for a more balanced approach to working through change. I offer family therapy, have extended success connecting with male and female adolescence whose behaviors have been labeled oppositional or explosive, and work with parents/families who struggle with how to relate and communicate with their teenager and each other. Men's Issues/male and female adolescent populations and families work through challenges they have in expressing emotion, managing anger, and interpersonal communication. Men become comfortable with and learn the benefits of therapy rather than holding on to old stereotypes. I offer Sports Psychology consulting for men/women/teens. Client's gain insight, increase self-awareness, and find solutions. They learn coping skills, control emotional impulses, and learn relaxation from a therapist who has spent 15 years studying and practicing meditation. Clients can formulate plans that foster self-care, exercise and nutrition to strengthen defenses and manage negative emotions.
