I’m Dr. Amy Syper, a licensed psychologist and founder of Strength in Becoming. As a dancer I have seen and experienced the damaging effects of body image distress and eating concerns along with the healing powers of dance. I specialize in eating disorder treatment and have worked with adolescents and adults with eating disorders at all levels of care- from inpatient hospitalization to outpatient therapy. I am passionate about helping clients build a safe and supportive relationship with their body. In addition to “talk therapy” I offer dance/movement therapy sessions to help clients strengthen their mind-body connection, build new insights into emotional experiences, and improve self-esteem. I also have experience working in college counseling centers, supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, identity exploration, ADHD, and executive functioning. When you’re in need of compassionate mental health care, you deserve genuine openness from a therapist who strives to be your advocate at all times. I look forward to being that advocate for you, learning more about who you are as an individual while exploring the ways we can achieve your collaborative goals together. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner with more than a decade of experience, I help adults navigate challenges posed by depressive and anxiety disorders as well as assist with processing and treating trauma and grief that individuals have experienced throughout their lives. My goal is to make in-depth inquiries and connections that get to the root of your struggles and build the skills needed to overcome any obstacle. I'm passionate about helping redefine the past and instilling hope for greater mental wellness. That’s why my method is centered around openness and grounded in the idea that you are not broken and needing to be "fixed." Instead, we use your life experiences to heal and explore the person you would like to be. In our time together, you can expect a kind, casual, and inquisitive environment when exploring your symptoms and history. I operate with a person-centered, Rogerian approach, using the concept of "unconditional positive regard" and a conversational style, so you feel understood in a non-judgmental way and at ease when discussing difficult history. I have served the Denver community as a psychiatric nurse practitioner based in mental health for the majority of my career. During this time, I had the honor of treating a wide number of diagnoses and severities of symptoms across ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic hardships. These experiences taught me just how nuanced mental health care truly is, allowing me to see a person not as "one diagnosis," but to take into account their entire history, relationship dynamics, and values to best tailor treatment, leading to greater well-being. When I’m not in my therapist role, I am a hobbyist woodworker and woodturner. I enjoy building and tinkering with models, as well as other creative outlets like cooking and baking sourdough bread.

I am a therapist specializing in a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity issues, LGBTQIA+ identity and relationships, life transitions, men's health, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual health, stress management, and student mental health — working with patients of all ages. With more than eight years of experience in direct care mental health settings and a background as a former educator, I bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic relationship. I believe that healing is a collaborative process and am committed to working alongside people from all walks of life to help you navigate your challenges and discover solutions that are right for you. My practice is founded on evidence-based and integrative modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), humanistic, and collaborative approaches. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor therapy to meet you where you are. My goal is to create a space where processing your experiences, build new understanding, and work toward meaningful goals all come together, so that every session moves you forward in a way that feels both grounded and purposeful. My path to becoming a therapist grew naturally out of my work as an educator. Many of my former students sought me out specifically, recognizing that they needed someone to direct and honest with them about their patterns and behaviors. Being surrounded by therapists throughout that time, I found myself continually inspired by the depth and impact of their work. That inspiration led me here. Today, I bring that same directness into the therapy room, helping you explore how your feelings and emotions connect to your history and how patterns, often without our awareness. By shining a light on those cycles, we can begin to understand them and, together, find a new way forward. Outside of the office, you can find me practicing hot yoga, spending time outdoors, playing video games, making art, or catching up on reality TV. These varied interests keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of joy, creativity, and rest, all values I bring into my work with you.
Hi! I’m Megan. I remember college being a lot of things - fun, exciting, but also hard and lonely at times. It took time to adjust to living more independently and learning how to live with others, balance classes, work/career choices, friendships and relationships. It can be a lot to navigate… on top of everything else you may have going on! I support clients who are going through, or are adjusting to a life transition. Maybe you find yourself struggling to thrive in your relationships (with family, friends, or romantic relationships). Perhaps you're experiencing symptoms of anxiety or perfectionism, or balancing your expectations with reality. You may be in a position of feeling "stuck" without a clear idea of how to move forward. In the therapy setting, I value getting to know you and the experiences, people, and systems that have contributed to your life and how you experience the world. College is a great time to learn more about yourself and I’m here to help you cope and move from feeling stuck to thriving! I’d be delighted to be a witness to your life story and support you from a place of openness and compassion. I invite you to reach out by phone or email so we can chat more about how I can best support you!
As a Clinical Social Work Candidate and Addictions Counselor Candidate, I specialize in mental health support and dual-diagnostic treatment for adults and adolescents. This support includes helping patients navigate co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, stress and anxiety, perfectionism, emotion-regulation difficulties, and challenges in relationships or daily functioning. My experience also extends to supporting previously incarcerated individuals as they navigate their reintegration process. No matter what you’re facing, we develop practical skills together for managing symptoms, creating meaningful life changes, and strengthening your relationships and self-understanding. I believe in meeting you wherever you are in each moment, whether you're processing challenges, celebrating strengths, building skills, or exploring new goals. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting your journey! My clinical approach is trauma-informed and holistic, recognizing the interconnectedness of your values, relationships, and life experiences. Using skills-based, strengths-based, and emotion-focused interventions, I support your healing and lasting change in a warm, goal-oriented space grounded in empathy and validation for your unique experience. While I draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I tailor interventions to align with your values, life context, and goals. My path to becoming a therapist grew from my own lived experience with mental health and a genuine passion for connection and growth. Volunteer work alongside my clinical experience has also deepened my understanding of our shared humanity, regardless of what we’ve been through or where we come from, and strengthened my commitment to compassionate, trauma-informed care. This combination of lived experience and clinical practice allows me to provide you with meaningful care. I love traveling, exploring cute coffee shops and restaurants, golfing, board game nights, and anything involving quality time with friends and family.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my work is rooted in helping teens and adults navigate complex trauma, late-diagnosed or suspected neurodivergent experiences, and the deeper questions of identity, relationships, and purpose. Whether you're processing a difficult life transition, untangling a late diagnosis of autism or ADHD, or beginning to understand how past experiences have shaped who you are today, I'm here to help you find clarity, connection, and a path forward. I believe in the power of connection and the idea that every part of you has value, which helps me be a genuine partner in building something that actually works for you. There’s no clipboard here, no one-size-fits-all plan handed down without context. Together, we'll explore who you are, tinker with the pieces, and discover the purpose you came here to find. You can expect warmth, honesty, and a comfortable space that feels both safe and genuine throughout our time together. Drawing on humanistic, neuroscience-based, attachment theory, and solution-focused approaches, we'll explore your relationships, emotions, identity, and purpose in a way that's collaborative from the start. Your plan is built with you, not for you, because your needs, experiences, and goals are the compass for everything we do together. Authentic and curious by nature, I believe that all parts of a person are worth examining and none of them are broken. That conviction shows up in every session. My path to becoming a therapist began in grief counseling and restorative justice intervention, where I witnessed firsthand how much a genuine human connection could change someone's trajectory. That experience deepened my commitment to relationship-centered care, where the therapeutic connection itself is part of the healing process. More than 10 years of advanced training from CU Boulder and Northwestern University ground my clinical practice, but what I bring to the work goes beyond a résumé: vulnerable humanity, genuine curiosity, and the occasional well-timed laugh. Outside of sessions, you'll find me in the boxing gym, tending to my aquariums, or playing percussion in bluegrass and folk music. These pursuits keep me grounded, present, and endlessly curious, qualities I carry into every session with you.
Hi, I’m Trevor Roth, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 20 years of experience helping people navigate stress, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. I work with college students who may be feeling overwhelmed by academic pressure, major life decisions, or personal challenges. My approach is supportive, practical, and collaborative. I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while also considering the whole person their experiences, environment, and relationships. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable exploring what’s going on in your life while developing tools to manage stress, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. Whether you’re facing anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a place to gain clarity, develop new skills, and move forward with confidence.
College is like a pressure cooker of compounding transitions. On top of demanding coursework, you are likely navigating the intense world of identity exploration. This can mean a lot of things; from the deeply personal layers of discovering your sexual orientation and gender identity, to simply figuring out who you are as an individual and what you actually want out of romantic and sexual relationships. As a queer therapist, I intimately understand the unique difficulties of navigating these shifts. I have walked this path myself, personally navigating profound changes in my own sexual orientation and gender identity, and I know how isolating it can feel to explore these core parts of yourself while trying to maintain your GPA. It is incredibly common to feel stuck in a major or career track that feels entirely wrong, paralyzed by the fear of starting over. I know that panic firsthand. I spent years working as a software developer before a season of deep introspection and counseling gave me the courage to make a massive pivot. Today, I am in a field I love deeply; one that brings me genuine passion far beyond a paycheck. If you are feeling misaligned with your current path, I offer specialized career counseling to help you cut through the external expectations, decode your true strengths, and confidently identify a professional field that actually fits your authentic self. Whether you are drowning in academic stress, untangling painful relationship patterns, processing trauma, or facing a complete directional pivot, you do not have to figure it out alone. Together, we will address the practical mechanics of stress management while diving deep into the relational dynamics that keep you stuck. I provide an encouraging, explicitly inclusive, and safe space where no topic is too messy or taboo. Your college years can feel incredibly destabilizing, but our work together will help you build the self-trust and clarity needed to step out of survival mode and into a life that is genuinely, authentically your own.

I am originally from California, but have called Colorado (Denver) my home for the last thirteen years. While I do miss the ocean, I love being in the mountains and all they have to offer. When I am not working, I am often playing in my garden, doing something in the kitchen, spending time with friends and family, or traveling. I am the same person during session as I am outside of session; laid back, a little goofy, genuinely curious about others’ lives, and compassionate. I use she/her pronouns. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and am licensed to see clients in Colorado, Indiana, Florida and Nevada. I have been practicing therapy since 2013 and truly enjoy working with my clients. I love learning about how trauma and stress can impact our minds, bodies and nervous systems and the ways we can heal and start to feel better. I am a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist as well as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). I often use a mixture of EMDR, Somatic Experiencing (SE), attachment, parts focused, and mindfulness techniques to help clients begin to unpack stressful or traumatic events and begin to integrate a sense of healing back into their minds and bodies. These techniques can be helpful for clients struggling with anxiety and depression symptoms, who have experienced one or more traumatic events, substance use, emotion regulation, or uncomfortable body sensations.
